Madiba FC Rates NNL Relegation Playoffs’ Organisation High
Proprietress of the Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Madiba FC, Basirat Adeyemi, has given her candid assessment of the recently concluded 2022-23 Relegation Playoffs held in the city of Kano.
Adeyemi who was at the championship playoffs, witnessed how the eight teams from both the Southern and the Northern conferences competed to retain their status in the second-tier league.
At the end of the five-day tournament which began with the Draw ceremony, Ikorodu City, Smart City FC, Adamawa United and Sokoto United were able to retain their NNL badge for the coming season.
Taking a look back at the organisation which went into the eight-team tournament, she expressed her satisfaction at what she saw in Kano as she picked out the areas which caught her attention.
“The relegation playoff was well organized and interesting with the massive turn out of the people of Kano” she confessed.
Her club, Madiba FC had their first stint in the concluded NNL season after they gained promotion from the Nation-wide League One (NLO) in 2022.
“Hmmm, for me,” she tried to put together her thoughts on one of the most critical aspect of any organised football tournaments.
“I think everything went well”, she continued, “including the officiating that was fair. So I think the relegation playoff was well organized.” she submitted.
She was however, optimistic that the new coming season under the new NNL leadership would deliver a fresher experience for clubs.
