Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries, Lagos Region 12, FESTAC Mega axis headquarters has organised free food evangelism to win souls for the kingdom of God.
Speaking during the free food evangelism event in the church in Lagos, the Evangelism Leader for Festac Mega Axis, Sis. Adesuwa Laitan, said the evangelism was initiated by the Church General overseer Dr. D.K.Olukoya, while noting that the Region has been working to ensure that everything is put in place and the Senior Pastor of the church, Pastor Irabor has been financing it.
She also stated that they have organised many programmes through this initiative, adding that they have carried out football, hospital, one on one, motor park, fuel station, market and prison evangelism with this initiative, and have fulfilled the mandate of the initiative.
She further explained that they have supported over 5,000 families through their feeding programmes, outsiders, destitute, less privileged, drivers and vulnerable members of the society, adding that they cook food and take to them as a way of supporting many homes.
Laitan remarked that the evangelism group has received many awards from headquarters noting that the Region has won several laurels and awards.
She averred that the Region has also taken first, second and third positions in evangelism across Nigeria.
THISDAY learnt that the free food evangelism initiative worked towards putting food on the tables of 1,000 families that includes widows, under privileged, Orphans, Okada / Keke Marwa Riders, Hausa communites; and the needy at 73, road, 51 road, 22 road by 512, Alakija Bus Stop under Bridge, Agboju Market and First Gate axis Festac. So far 135 Cartons of Indomie Noodles and 220 bags of 5kg Rice were delivered.
In her words, “The caterer on contract is working on 350 plates of meal for our target audience outside the raw food delivery with a bottle water for 350 persons. Special gifts for 50 persons fully sorted and 80 other food items for distribution ready with our contacts persons on continuous delivery as required. It can only be GOD and we give all glory to God for his faithfulness.
“We always have good results because when we go out, we not only share the food, we also evangelize. Our aim is for the church to reach out to people and we have always been winning souls for the kingdom of God, so we are not left out.
“I am always happy playing this role and when people are being fed, it’s a joy to us going out there to share food and minister the word. We are always happy and at the end of it all, we won’t miss out our goals to grow our membership and faith.
Our efforts have brought new members and new converts to the church to increase numerically. So, I think that is what the church also needs in bringing in souls.
“As we bring them in, they have to go to foundational class which is the first class they have to go through. From foundational class to membership class and by the time they meet the groups, they will be able to identify where God is calling them to work for the church and this is what we have been doing and it’s helping them to grow in faith. Apart from using food to carry out evangelism, we use bulletins, tracts, books, and megaphones to preach. We do use social media platforms, WhatsApp, Facebook. We also have media and social media evangelism.
“Evangelism is not cheap, it is expensive. For us to be able to put in all our efforts and have good results, we also need money to promote the gospel. Without money, evangelism cannot move forward. We bring them in and do follow up with them. We encourage them with feeding, clothing’s, giving them money to grow in faith. The church has a welfare unit and follow up team that help these young believers and bring them back to Christ. Our region was mandated to win 15,000 Souls which we also report and give feedback to headquarters. Sometimes, we overshoot the target and also most times, we don’t reach our target too.”
