APC Confirms Filling Vacant NWC, Zonal Positions

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has confirmed the filling of vacant positions in the National Working Committee (NWC) and Zonal executive positions.

Briefing journalists at the end of the NWC meeting yesterday in Abuja, National Secretary of the party, Senator Ajibola Bashir, also said the ruling party was at an advanced stage on the composition of the campaign council for Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi governorship elections

He, however, said the campaign council list would be released next week.

Bashir stated: “We also had discussion around how to expand the membership of the party in between the general election. During the last NEC meeting, the NEC empowered the NWC of the party to fill the existing vacancies occasioned due to resignation and death of the national welfare officer of the party.

“In furtherance of the power vested on the NWC of the party, we have elected the following persons to fill the existing vacant positions.”

The party’s scribe said the position of the Deputy National Chairman,  North, zoned to North East and now occupied by Hon Ali Bukar Dalori (Borno), while the position of National Vice Chairman, North West, was occupied by Hon. Garba Muhammad (Kaduna).

The National Legal Adviser, he said, has been zoned to North Central and now occupied by Prof. AbdulKarim Abubakar Kana (Nasarawa), while the position of Deputy National Publicity Secretary zoned to North Central, was occupied by Hon.  Duro Meseko (Kogi).

He added: “Zonal Organising Secretary zoned to North Central, Ikani Shuaibu Okolo (Kogi); National Welfare Secretary zoned to South East, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa (Abia); and National Women Leader, zoned South South, Dr. Mary Alile Idele  (Edo).”
