Kefas Urges TETFUND to Build Entrepreneurship Centres, E-Libraries in Taraba

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has appealed to the Management of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to build more entrepreneurship centres in Taraba State to help train youths in different skills.
The governor, who made the appeal yesterday when he paid a courtesy visit to the TETFUND office in Abuja also pleaded for the construction of E- libraries and Computer Based Test Centres to cater for students seating for JAMB and other examinations.
Kefas, who was received by the Executive Secretary of TETFUND,, Dr. Sonny Echono noted that it was imperative for the state to partner with TETFUND in its bid to provide quality education for students in the state.
He assured TETFUND that his administration would be willing to provide any assistance towards realising the objective just as he pledge to personally supervise the projects from the scratch to completion.
He informed the Executive Secretary that he has reviewed the tuition in tertiary institutions in the state downward by 50% just as he declared free and compulsory education in public primary and secondary schools.
He identified lack of education as the remote cause insecurity and other criminal acts saying when everyone is in school, nobody will engage in perpetrating evil.
Responding, Dr Echono said the request of the governor will be treated as priority stressing that
TETFUND is ready to partner with Taraba State which it consider a key stakeholder.
He noted that TETFUND has constructed physical structures in some institutions in the state as well as training of staff including provision of research grants.
The TETFUND boss later presented a souvenir to the Governor who was accompanied by the State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin, Commissioner of Information, Zainab Usman Jalingo and the Provost, Taraba State College of Education, Prof. Ejika Sambo.
