RSU: Fubara Orders Investigation over  Robbery Attack on Female Students

Rivers State Governor, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara, has ordered investigation into the robbery attack on female students hostel at the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.

Fubara also condemned the robbery attack on students in the female Hostel D by yet to be identified Hoodlums.

The governor during a visit to the school campus assured that investigation that has been opened will unravel the perpetrators, and bring them to book while promising medical attention for the molested students.

It would be recalled that the female students were attacked on Wednesday, by armed men who broke into their hostel in the institution premises and made a way with their belongings, while students sustained injuries trying to escape the attack.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Emeka Nwonyi, had also directed that adequate security be provided in the campus.

In a statement by state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said that “The Rivers State Police Command, having received a report of an armed robbery attack at the Rivers State University female hostel, the CP directed the DC Operations, Area Commander, Port Harcourt, and the DPO Nkpolu to provide adequate security on the campus. 

The Police commissioner further has called for vigilance and urged students, parents, and the school management to take advantage of the Police Control Room numbers for reporting suspicious activities:
