Twitter Fans Troll Nigerian Artist, Gts 40k’s Club Performance
After a recent performance at the VBar club, Lagos, Nigerian hip-pop singer, Gts 40k got Nigerians reacting to the performance video which went viral via twitter.
The Nigerian singer was spotted in the video freestyling and experimenting with different genres of music outside of his well known genre, which is “Afro-beat” and it attracted all sorts of reactions and comments.
While there were some negative comments, the singer also got positive reactions as he was rated alongside top celebrity singers such as Rema, Odumodublvck and others.
When asked at the City FM105.1 Lagos, on the development, Gts 40k bared his mind, showing he wasn’t all too comfortable with people comparing one genre of music to the other.
He said, “I hate being compared and you can’t be comparing Hip-hop with Afrobeats. They are two different vibes with a majority fanbase around the world.
“I dont think I’m ever going to change who I am because of the trolling. That’s a normal challenge for every superstar coming up and still those at the top. Besides, my music has been doing great in the market, digital or otherwise. So, that’s a huge measure of success for me and my brand.”
Happy Nwaobori a.k.a Gts 40k was born in Asaba, Delta State. He started singing at a very young age and his craft hit the limelight with his latest single “Hands up” which got massive play on TV stations and clubs.
