After over seven hours of intense thrilling moves and acrobatic skills, XDC Dance Group, which has been in existence for over 10 years emerged the winner of the 2023 Spark Up edition of the Ijoya Rumble Dance Championship.
The edition, which attracted over 16 groups made up of youthful talents displayed raw untapped and untamed abilities in the area of dance for the star price of $2000 and other consolation prizes.
The group, made up of Victor Sam, Richard Sunday, Idara Maurice, Blessing Essien, Ellan Santus , caught the attention of the four judges made of seasoned entertainment entrepreneurs including Gordons.
Speaking at the dance competition organised by Real Made in Africa in conjunction with project Asha, held in Lagos recently, Komone Godwin, aka, Gordons, said the programme was timely.
He reiterated that events like this would help channel more youths’ energy into productive ventures that would provide them platforms to make a living.
On his side as the organiser, the CEO Real Made in Africa Concept, Edore Churchill, explained that the event provides the platforms for young people to see a career in dancing.
Equally as co-partner, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Project Asha Initiative, Steven Robinson, said they chose dance because of the equality issue and it requires no certificate to perform.
