Bandits Abduct Kaduna APC Organising Secretary

Gunmen have abducted the organising secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state, Kawu Yakassai.

Findings revealed that Yakassai was abducted Friday night in Soba Local Government Area of the state.

Chief Press Secretary to Governor Uba Sani, Mohammed Shehu confirmed the incident in a telephone chat on Saturday in Kaduna.

Shehu said the governor had directed security agencies to go after the criminals and rescue Yakassai.

He added that the Kaduna state government is taking steps to tackle the security challenges in the state.

According to him, the state government is working towards recruiting 7,000 vigilantes to complement the efforts of the security agencies in the state.

He said, “Yakassai was abducted on Friday night in Giwa LGA. The state governor has directed security agencies to go after the kidnappers.

The government is making efforts to address the security challenges facing the state. This is why the state government is seeking to engage 7,000 vigilantes to complement the efforts of the security agencies in tackling the security issues.”

The abduction of the politician occurred barely a day after Jeremiah Mayau, a pastor with the Tawaliu Baptist Church, Kujama, headquarters of Chikun Local Government Area, was killed in his farm by gunmen on Wednesday.
