Okafor Chinedu earns Humanitarian Award Amidst Records Successes of his Business
While people know the different business facets of Okafor Chinedu Emmanuel, the chairman of the VGH group, who is fondly called VGH Boss, the philanthropic dimension of his persona often surprises those who don’t know about it. The Anambra State-born entrepreneur, who married in 2022, has a Humanitarian Foundation that caters for widows and indigent people who cannot afford a basic livelihood.
Given his altruistic nature, it did not come as a surprise when he was named among the recipients of the humanitarian awards held recently in Anambra State by Newsland Integrated Media Service (NIMS). As for his business side, this is a facet that the public has become accustomed to in the past few years.
His company has been waxing stronger, with the various subsidiaries of the conglomerate becoming known in their respective sectors. For instance, VGH Homes Limited has been active as one of the investors, stakeholders, and developers pushing the nation’s real estate market to new heights. The company has built at least four estates in Abuja, Lagos, and Anambra.
The company has an Industrial Production, a plastics manufacturing company that recycles waste. Aside from his unflagging advocacy on the need to clean up society of plastic waste and properly dispose of waste material, Okafor has been using his company to render this crucial service.
The last major subsidiary under his group, is the Music Record Label which is also a vibrant business entity. As far as record labels go, they have made a mark by giving the Nigerian music industry two wave-making musicians, namely Crayon and Somto.
