A socio-political pressure group, Southern Nigeria Peace Movement (SNPM), has joined calls for the renewal of the pipeline surveillance contract to Tompolo’s Tantita Security Services Limited in the overall interest of oil production in the country.
The group’s Chairman, Comrade Wale Nice, made the call in a statement on Monday.
He said that Tantita had done well to be re-awarded the contract and called on President Bola Tinubu to do the needful without further delay.
He lauded Tantita’s inclusive approach which has seen youths and elders from various communities actively partaking in their security efforts.
He said the practice ensures the safety of oil company workers, facilitating an environment conducive for business.
The statement read: “The adage ‘one good turn deserves another’ resonates profoundly in our current context. Through this platform, I extend a heartfelt plea to all compassionate Nigerians, particularly our esteemed Niger Delta leaders, to join forces in supporting and upholding the efforts of TANTITA Security Services Limited in safeguarding our crucial oil facilities.
“However, it is essential to acknowledge the remarkable contribution of TANTITA Security Services under Tompolo’s guidance. Their resolute efforts have significantly curtailed oil theft, boosted national revenue, and safeguarded our oil facilities.
“In this moment, we witness the restoration of our rivers to their pristine state, free from the ravages of pipeline vandalism. The positive ripple effect of this restoration is evident in the return of aquatic life, including fish, to our waterways. Such transformation is a testament to the resolute protection provided by TANTITA Security Services Limited.
“Tantita Security Services Limited has repeatedly shown a dedication to excellence by putting into place cutting-edge security measures that have greatly increased the safety of oil production, transportation, and storage in the nation.
“They have significantly improved the security environment in the Niger Delta region by working tirelessly and devotedly to reduce oil theft and illicit activities.
“The prudent management of these assets reflects their dedication to national security and prosperity.
“In the world of football, we are taught to avoid changing a winning team. With this philosophy in mind, the Federal Republic of Nigeria should consider empowering TANTITA Security Services to continue their commendable work under the leadership of Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo,”
Nice further emphasised that the collective benefits arising from TANTITA Security Services’ operations was enormous and urged all stakeholders to support the move for the contract renewal.
“The diligent guarding of oil facilities within a state often consist of local individuals committed to the welfare of their communities. By aligning our actions with what is right and commendable, we pave the way for a more prosperous Nigeria.
