ATBU  Senate Elects New Deputy Vice-Chancellors

The Senate of the university has elected Prof. Sani Usman Kunya and Prof. Ahmad Sarki Fagam as deputy vice-chancellor (academics) and deputy vice-chancellor (administration) respectively.  

The statement by Zailani Bappa, the director of Directorate of Information and Public Relations, said, “In its special meeting held on Tuesday, 22nd August, 2023, the two professors emerged after a keen contest against Professor Nanmwa Voncir and Professor Samaila Idi Ningi, respectively.”

It added, “After the election, which was supervised by Chairman of the Senate, Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammad Ahmad Abdulazeez, Sani Kunya won over Prof. Nanmwa Voncir to clinch the post.”

The statement added that “in the same vein, Prof. Ahmed Sarki Fagam won over Prof. Samaila Idi Ningi to emerge as the new DVC Admin. Both deputy vice-chancellors will serve a renewable term of two years.

Meanwhile, the Senate has confirmed Prof. Nasir Murtala for another term of two years as the director for the Directorate of Entrepreneurship while Prof. Fatima A. Sawa was confirmed for another two years as the director for the Directorate for Innovation, Research and Development while Prof. Gotrim Wuritka is elected as the new director for the Industrial Training Co-ordinating Unit.
