Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution (TNTD) Limited and Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA) have today announced the launch of a one-of-a-kind collaboration aimed at providing top-level training and valuable hands-on industrial experience for young Nigerians within the creative and film industry.

Under this partnership, graduates of TAFTA will get the opportunity for a paid internship with Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution Limited upon completion of their training. The internship programme aims at providing practical use of the knowledge acquired by TAFTA graduates in a real-world environment.

Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution Limited is an independent entertainment company that distributes and markets local and international filmed content. Their distribution network spans cinema, inflight entertainment, streaming platforms, and linear television networks within and outside Africa.

They also produce commercial filmed content and are committed to becoming the leading global supplier of wholesome, feel-good entertainment to cinemas worldwide. Their upcoming release, Charlie And The Boys, produced by Damn Good Studios, will be released in cinemas across Nigeria on September 29, 2023.

While announcing the partnership, Anita Edwards, the Chief Executive Officer of Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution Limited, said, “As an organisation, we are on a mission to change the landscape of the entertainment industry both locally and internationally by bridging the gap between content creators and target audiences within and outside Nigeria. As you can imagine, this is an enormous amount of work, and naturally, talent is a top priority for us. The partnership with TAFTA will provide a steady stream of talent for our company while providing these young creatives an avenue to earn money and learn more about the inner workings of our industry.”

Edwards also added, “It’s a win-win for us and their graduates. Such opportunities are almost non-existent in the film industry today, and we are glad to be at the forefront of this groundbreaking partnership with TAFTA. Plus, the launch of this internship program proves our commitment to the growth of our industry, and we are glad to use our platform as a stepping-stone for the next generation of Nigerian creatives.”

According to Mr Joseph Umoibom, the Academy Lead for TAFTA, “To thrive in the dynamic realm of the arts, young Nigerians need to possess a relevant knowledge base, which can be acquired through the invaluable resources offered by Terra Academy for the Arts. Additionally, the involvement of industry leaders such as Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution serves as a crucial platform, empowering aspiring artists and enhancing the growth of our graduates. This collaborative effort not only nurtures their talent but also equips them with the necessary skills to seize opportunities within the creative industry. By doing so, we address the pressing issue of employability and, not to mention, the prevalent challenge of unemployment in our country.”
