Abia APC Chieftain Warns Detractors against Fomenting Crisis

A chieftain of the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Kingsley Ngwaba, has warned agents of destabilisation to stay clear of the state executive committee.

He gave the warning in a chat with journalists in Umuahia while reacting to a spurious statement credited to the former state publicity secretary, Okey Ezeala.

Ezeala had gone on a live radio programme purporting that the state Chairman of the party, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu and three other executive committee members had been suspended by their wards over alleged anti party activities.

Others he listed as suspended include the state Deputy Chairman, Hon. Grant Nwogu; state Secretary, Chief Chidi Avaja, and the Organising Secretary, Deacon Obinna Atuonwu.

But Ngwaba vehemently condemned the purveyor of the falsehood, saying that the state executive committee led by Dr. Ononogbu “is intact”, adding that there was no truth whatsoever in Ezeala’s claims.

He lashed out on  Ezeala for making himself available as a tool for fomenting crisis in the party by bandying about “unfounded and fallacious statements”, adding that the plan to cause crisis in the party was already dead on arrival.

“I am not surprised that after working in concert with their sponsors in the night during the elections, they have found a willing tool in the former publicity secretary to continue their selfish agenda,” he said.

According to him, Ezeala was only acting the script of those who betrayed the party during the last general election, adding that their primary objective was to destabilise the Abia APC.

He said that by going to town with false claims of suspension, the intention of Ezeala and his cohorts was to discredit the executives of Abia APC in the eyes of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and the general public.

The party chieftain described Ezeala’s claim of having taken over the control of the party in the state in the absence of the four executives as most ridiculous and laughable, adding that the claim was a joke taken too far.

However, he appealed to members of the Abia APC family to disregard Ezeala and his antics, adding that the former party spokesman would not make any headway in his “sinister plans” to generate crisis in Abia APC.

Ngwaba urged the party members to heed the advice of the party leader, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, and remain loyal to the constituted party leaderships both at state and national levels.
