Ezenwa-Onuaku Receives Two Top U.S Awards

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, on August 19, 2023, bestowed the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award on Nigerian born Dr Charity Ezenwa-Onuaku. Biden presented the much coveted meritorious award – the highest community recognition of the US President, to Ezenwa-Onuaku during the event to commemorate the 2023 World Humanitarian Day in Houston, United States.

The US President’s Lifetime Achievement Award was established by George W. Bush’s Council on Service and Civil Participation 

The honour is part of the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) which President George Bush established to honour civilians who volunteer to serve people in need.

The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is given to individuals who have made long outstanding contributions to humanity.

In her acceptance response, Ezenwa-Onuaku expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to continue to foster human empowerment and growth via Financial Empowerment for Young Adults (FEYA) and her Women Empowerment (WE) project of which well over 50 widows in Nigeria have benefited.

Ezenwa-Onuaku is a social entrepreneur pursuing poverty alleviation through financial education. Her dedication to financial literacy through FEYA and WE Project came to the attention of the US President, Biden.

Her commitment and passion exemplify the spirit of the US Presidential Award, which inspires community confidence and change, home and abroad.

She is recognised for her expert leadership of the WealthyGen, Inc., an organisation she founded in 2018 to empower women and youths through financial education, development of tools as well as promoting programmes that advance their achievement of financial stability and sustainable growth.

Within days of receiving the US President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Ezenwa-Onuaku bagged another major award from Marquis LS and became inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who’s Who Biographical Registry 

She was considered for this honour based on her noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field that more significantly impacted humanity.

Ezenwa-Onuaku received the Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI) certification from the National Financial Education Council (NFEC).

In 2017, the World Bank Group awarded her a Verified Certificate in Financing for Development.

A skilled chartered economist, accountant and corporate finance executive with more than a decade of excellence in strategic planning, monitoring, analyzing and reporting of key corporate financial and operational metrics, Ezenwa-Onuaku has earned distinction as the founder and president of a non-profit organization, WealthyGen, Inc. The organisation provides financial empowerment solutions for women and youth to enable them break the cycle of poverty worldwide. 

She and her team provide financial education and counseling services and assist their beneficiaries with gaining higher education and establishing their own businesses to promote their financial independence.
