Abike Dabiri-Erewa on the Move Again

Excellence is not a one-time thing. The wheels of action and accomplishment upon which excellence rests have to be on a constant move to be recognized. This is why Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman and CEO of Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) is considered an excellent person. Her most recent move, the establishment of a resource centre for Africa, indicates that the NIDCOM boss is not idle.

NIDCOM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Ibadan (UI) that allows for the setting up of an African Diaspora Resource Centre. The Centre, funded by TETFUND, is the first of its kind in Africa, according to Dabiri-Erewa, and is being prepared to change the fortune of Nigerians who also believe that information can be life-changing.

From Dabiri-Erewa’s perspective, the Center is going to be a place of knowledge and learning. She has pointed out that TETFUND approves the project on account of their recognizing its value. Moreover, with the prestigious UI in on the action, Dabiri-Erewa is hopeful that this project will gain global repute, enabling Nigerians in the diaspora to seek and find true knowledge of their roots.

It has to be said that Dabiri-Erewa is doing well. This is her second shift as NIDCOM boss and the country is in no way hurting from her work. One might even say that Nigerians in the diaspora have never had it as good as they have it now.
