We Owe our Achievements to Parents, Says School Proprietor
The Proprietor, Achievax Base School, Mr. Ayodeji Omotola, has commended parents of his pupils for standing by the school since inception.
Speaking during the school’s 16th graduation ceremony recently, he said if not for them, the institution would not have reached the height and the achievements it has garnered over the years.
Seventy one pupils graduated from the school, among them was Favour Omotola, the Head girl and daughter of the owner of the school.
The graduands were entertained by the pupils; there were presentations from the various arms of the school: KG, nursery, primary and secondary.
The events kicked off with a welcome song by the schools’ choir, spelling bees, choreography, debates and fashion parades. Their teachers were not left out, as they spiced the day with dances.
Omotola, who was elated, especially because of his daughter, said the seeds of the school which he planted in 2008, had grown into an oak tree.
He described the day as “a milestone in the lives of our graduating students.” He thanked God, parents and teachers for their support to the school, saying that without them it would have been difficult.
He noted that the school has waxed stronger in numerical strength and in the provision of modern facilities from its humble beginnings to enhance the pupils’ training and all-round development.
“Achievax Base School firmly adheres to the principles of functional education, which aligns with the National Policy on Education. Our academic structure aims to cultivate well-rounded individuals who possess the knowledge, skills and logical thinking abilities necessary to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.”
Omotola noted that families are important to a child’s upbringing, enjoining them to be partners in progress with the schools. “The family’s influence is integral to the nature-nurture relationship, shaping a child’s character and providing a strong foundation for their academic journey,” he stated.
The proprietor commended the pupils for giving a good account of themselves in the school. “We celebrate your achievements, perseverance and unwavering commitment to excellence. You have shown tremendous dedication during your academic journey,” he said.
He advised them to be good ambassadors of the school, saying, “act with responsibility, integrity and compassion; for your actions will reflect not only upon yourselves but also the institution that has nurtured and guided you,” he added.
The chairperson of the occasion, Mrs. Abimbola Adeyemi, a make-up artist, advised parents to prioritise their wards’ education, which she said is the best legacy they could leave for them.
