Nigeria Signs Free Mining Training Deal with Australia

The Ministry of Solid Minerals has signed a no-cost agreement with Australia’s Ministry of Mining, as disclosed by the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake.
Alake disclosed this yesterday, via his X (Twitter) account that.
Under this arrangement, Nigerian mining professionals would have the opportunity to receive free training in modern mining technology and practices in Western Australia, tapping into Australia’s expertise in the field.
“This initiative is aimed at bolstering Nigeria’s mining sector, attracting foreign investments, and enhancing competitiveness on a global scale,” he wrote.
The collaborative effort seeks to revolutionise the mining sector by prioritising human and capital resources for transformative growth which involves, “The creation of the Nigerian Solid Minerals Corporation, partnerships with mining multinational companies, data-driven insights on priority minerals.
“Regularisation of illegal miners, establishment of surveillance units, license reviews, and the establishment of Mineral Processing Centers, all with the goal of unlocking the significant mineral wealth beneath Nigeria’s soil,” he added.
