The Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, has donated food items and cash worth N5 Million (Five Million Naira only) to his constituents as palliatives for fuel subsidy removal.

Egbedun also donated a car gift to the Osun State Assistant Organising Secretary of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Ms. Bose Lawal, who is representing Odo Otin Local Government in the State Executive Council of the party.

The beneficiaries of the palliatives donated by the speaker would include physically challenged persons, widows, youths and aged persons who are selected from residents of Odo Otin Local Government.

The food items that were distributed across the local government included 2000 bags of 1kg of Semovita and 3000 pieces of #300 worth of bread.

Addressing some of his constituents, Egbedun noted that he understood and felt the pains of the people during this critical period.

He pleaded that they should accept the token and assured them that it would be coming regularly from time to time.

He further stated that plans are in top gear to empower some youths in the local government through a programme he called “Teach Them How to Fish, Building the Society.”

Several constituents trooped out in their thousands to appreciate the speaker and pray for his success in his endeavour.
