Managing Director of St. Eve, Mrs Evelyn Okereke in partnership with Hon Paul Onoura aka Nwa Jesus, one of the major sponsors of a football tournament aimed at discovering young talents, has encouraged youth across Nigeria to live their dreams as they aspire for great things in life.

Speaking during the official unveiling and kick-off of the football tournament organised by St, Eve to help discover young talents and also help the youths be positively engaged,  Okereke said,  “My inspiration is drawn from the fact that as a mother, you see what is happening in Nigeria where things are becoming tough and tough every day, so we thought of a way to bring out our youths and close that gap between the rich and the poor. And you see, the economy is not so friendly, and I have supporters who together we can make meaning to these young people and again keep them busy so that during this long vacation they could play the game and we don’t know who God can elevate through this competition.”

She reiterated that the competition is to encourage their youthful dreams as well as instil in them the mindset that anything is possible through football.

On why chose sports and not fashion or art, she said, “Sports is a unique venture and also a unifying force and when you want to do something that unifies, fashion won’t do it as much as sports would. So, I felt that for unity, football is one of the  biggest sports in the world.”

One of the major sponsors of the competition,  Hon Paul Onoura aka Nwa Jesus, said, “It doesn’t matter who the youth you are sponsoring is. It doesn’t matter the tribe the youths you are sponsoring come from.  What matters is that youth become successful in life. When that youth becomes successful in life, he or she will touch other people’s lives because he has succeeded.”

He encouraged the youth that as they pursue their dreams, they should be of good behaviour and associate with the right people.
