Moyo Lawal’s Sex Tape Saga: Actor Ekene Nnamani Offers Possible Explanations

Nollywood hunky actor, Ekenechukwu Nnamani popularly known as 042 Swanky has shared his thoughts on possible reasons some celebrities are involved in sex tape scandals, hinting that the action may be a premeditated one or a twist in the tale of the affairs of their lives. The actor shares his thoughts in the wake of another sex tape scandal involving Nollywood colleague, Moyo Lawal and a presumed lover.

Nnamani, in a chat with our reporter on why celebrities get involved in sex tape scandal said he was not speaking specifically on Moyo Lawal but bearing his mind as a simple opinion on a general issue.

He said, “When some people at some point make a tape or take pictures of their sex act, usually one of two things happen. Either an angry / upset former partner tries to gain some money for memoirs of the past or the celebrity falls out of the limelight or needs a career boost and carefully arranges someone to release it for them.

“The resulting press from it usually encourages film roles that are higher paid. And that obviously makes them notoriously famous but / it’s a NO for me. I don’t think I am willing to go through the mental and emotional stress that comes with it , what I have between my legs looks good and for a special one ,I wouldn’t want it seen casually it’s indeed special to me .”

The actor further stressed that the act may be concocted under some certain influences which may be or not career related, or an offshoot of some psychological shortcomings, which all tend to lean towards rekindling a dying flame of fame.

“I have noticed that usually those that don’t mind are those that need something to toss their dying following back to a 15 mins of fame and with hopes(and usually it works) into their return to fame by lightning that once burnt out fame. So they tend to get caught in a drunken rage or a simple “hacked and released” sex tape.

“Some become the so-called victim of some psychological problem- be it attempted suicide, body issues, or shaving their head. They become the rebel, the ex of someone also famous or they marry one. I have seen actresses that came out of the closet and oddly enough ), after some camera and tabloid time they seem to go straight out of the blue.

“Media is the source of power and they know that. The only problem is some of them try way too hard to get that fame again by becoming celebrities on cooking shows , reality shows, the fillers on videos of people doing stupid things.So yeah, the old saying of “Any press is still good press” rings true no matter what is written, video taped( phone recorded) or yes, snapped as a photo. Sometimes, the after effects of the scandal are quite shorter than the popularity gained from that scandal so why not use it to be well known again.

” It is normal for people to have sex, but having your sex tape out in the open is indeed a big deal, especially for celebrities, who people all over the world are familiar with their faces.

“They might never get to admit it, but deep down they would feel totally disappointed in themselves for having a sex tape out there, knowing that someday their children, spouse, or loved ones might come across it,” he added.
