Breaking: Akintola Williams Dies at 104

The Doyen of accounting profession in Nigeria, Akintola Williams, is dead.
He was aged 104.
Reports said he died at on Monday.
Revered as the first Nigerian to qualify as a chartered accountant,  Williams contributed in founding the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Reacting to his death, Wealth Management and Business Development Consultant, Mr. Ibrahim Shelleng, told THISDAY,  that “The accounting and finance world will certainly be saddened by the loss of a great man, stalwart, and icon. 
“The great man was an institution. On another note, he lived to 104 years so it should be a celebration of a life well lived. Rest in peace to the great man.”
