Free Surgeries Performed by Havana Hospital And Rucomef Foundation Renews the Hope of 10 Patients
With the support of several medical specialists and NGO bodies from within and outside the country, many families who had lost hope of undergoing surgery for their life-threatening conditions have been given a new lease on life. In a partnership between, Havana Specialist Hospital and Rucomef Foundation a decision to reduce health disparity and ensure that all members of society, regardless of their socio-economic status, have access to quality healthcare services was agreed upon.
Rucomef Foundation, a Christian NGO with access to the less privileged in the society, organized the convergence of the persons who need the surgery. This partnership successfully guaranteed a better life experience of 10 patients saddled with impending cases of Hernia And Fibroid. The 1st and 2nd of September, 2023 was indeed a day that changed the life of several families has hope was renewed and faith assured as the surgeries were successfully performed.
The Chief Medical Director, Dr Mrs Ijeoma Iwuala expressed the importance of good health and its impact on society. Highlighting that lack of access to quality healthcare can lead to social instability, increased crime rates, social unrest, and strained social services.
Dr Iwuala also noted that, “The hospital’s core values are acronym in CARES which expresses Compassionate, Attentive, Respectful, Empathetic and Synergy. We understand the importance of good health and its impact on society as lack of access to quality healthcare can lead to social instability, increased crime rates, social unrest, and strained social services.”
The medical facility further encourages healthcare providers and institutions to focus on efficiency, effectiveness, equitable care delivery, and value the well-being of all societal members, thereby fostering a sense of community and solidarity.
