The Northern Women and Youth Empowerment Monitors (NWYEM) have expressed their deep appreciation for the First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, for her exceptional dedication to the advancement of girl-child and women’s education within the state.
Mrs. Mohammed has spearheaded a range of programs with the aim of enhancing the educational and economic prospects of women and girls in Bauchi. Her initiatives include granting scholarships to disadvantaged female students and providing training in various vocational skills for women and girls.
The Chairperson of NWYEM, Mrs. Gloria Danladi, commended the First Lady’s tireless efforts and hailed her as a “champion for gender equality and women’s empowerment.” Mrs. Danladi urged other state governments and stakeholders to take inspiration from the Bauchi State Government’s initiatives and offer their support to similar endeavors.
“Empowering women and girls through education and skill development is pivotal for achieving sustainable development in our communities, and leaders like Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, who are deeply committed to this cause, deserve our wholehearted support and admiration,” stated Danladi.
She emphasized Aisha Bala Mohammed’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the education of girls and women in the state and addressing the challenges faced by young girls and women in Bauchi, who often encounter barriers to education due to cultural and societal norms.
Mrs. Danladi emphasized that Aisha Bala Mohammed’s initiative seeks to broaden educational access for girls by advocating for policies and programs that bolster their educational opportunities. Aisha recognizes the transformative power of education for women and their overall well-being, firmly believing that every girl should have the opportunity to receive an education.
“Aisha’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations of leaders dedicated to shaping a better future for all Nigerians. Her story serves as a reminder that, even in the face of adversity, one individual can make a profound impact on their community and beyond.
“While we celebrate Aisha’s achievements, we must also acknowledge that there is still much work to be done. Women and girls encounter challenges in various parts of Nigeria, and it falls upon all of us to ensure they have access to the necessary resources for success. Together, we can forge a brighter future for all Nigerians,” affirmed Mrs. Danladi.
NWYEM additionally called on the private sector and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to collaborate with the Bauchi State Government in sustaining these initiatives and ensuring their far-reaching effects extend to every corner of the state.
