SFFL Showtime League Debuts Sept 24 in Lagos
SFFL League Commissioner, Adejumo Adebare has disclosed that the SFFL Showtime league will kick off on September 24, at the Meadow Hall Way, Alma Beach Estate, Lekki-Epe Express Way with lots of funfair.
Before the September 24 showdown however, an All Stars game is billed for tomorrow between Showtime All Stars against last season champions- The Outlaws, which will serve as the curtain raiser.
Interestingly, organisers of the SFFL Showtime coed Flag Football league, commenced a special pre session training programme for players, particularly, the new players who are not knowledgeable but have interest in the Flag football league.
Adebare said the pre-session training tagged ‘Showtime Sunday’ was held on three consecutive Sundays.
The programme, kicked off 30th July and ran through 13 August with 10 teams in attendance.
Adebare said that the pre session training would assist develop more players at the grassroots and also assist to create the awareness of Flag football in the country among fans who wish to be part of the Sport.
Adebare said the season, tagged Season X, will have nine rounds of games with all 10 teams playing a round robin non-stop every Sunday.
After the regular season, there will be a playoffs scheduled to commence on November 26, and will feature the top-six teams, who will compete to become the last two teams standing for the Showtime Bowl billed for December 10.
The regular season, opens with a battle between Dragons and Panthers, defending champions, The Outlaws will square up against The Lagos Mavericks while last season’s losing finalist, Titans will come against newcomer, Lagos Athletic Flag Football.
“Season X promises to be an unforgettable experience and the magic that happens when you embrace the spirit of flag football,” Adebare assured.
