Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, yesterday cautioned the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against dragging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and others into the politics of Nasararwa State.

The state chapter of the PDP had recently dared Governor Sule not to drag President Tinubu and Wike into the politics of the state.

However, Sule, while speaking at a press briefing through his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, said the PDP was worried because the party had suffered defeat at governorship elections for four consecutive times and at the verge of another suffering.

According to Ahemba, “Our attention has been drawn to a media publication wherein the state Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Francis Orogu, was quoted to have called on the governor not to drag President Tinubu, Wike and others into Nasarawa State politics.

“While the government of Abdullahi Sule remains steadfast and shall resist being dragged into joining issues with the opposition under whatever guise, we consider it pertinent to put records straight for the sake of unsuspecting members of the public who might be misled by the serial false alarms which have seemingly become the hallmark of opposition politics in the state.”

The SSA added that it was on record that since assumption of office as the fourth democratically elected governor of Nasarawa State, Sule has continued to drive the state on the path of progress and development in all spheres, specifically in the areas of security, infrastructure, industrialisation, investment, human capital development, agriculture, health, education, among other sectors of the economy.”

Ahemba called on members of the public to disregard the PDP claim that the recent working visit to the FCT Minister by Governor Sule was mainly to solicit favour from the minister for the ongoing governorship election petition tribunal.

He, therefore, said the recent visit by the governor was to collaborate with the FCT administration for a metro line from Apo to Keffi, as well as a partnership to build the 13,000 hectares Gurku/Kabusu Mega City that was only about five km away from Maitama ll.
