Akinderu – Fatai Tasks Ministry Officials on Greater Commitment to THEMES-plus Agenda

Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu – Fatai, has called on the management and staff of the ministry to rededicate themselves to duty and support the current administration to actualise the THEME plus agenda of the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu administration.
He stated this yesterday while addressing the ministry’s staff at a meeting.
Akinderu–Fatai said though the housing sector has attained great strides in housing delivery, more zest is required to ensure that the transformational journey progresses.
He pointed out that the present administration is committed to changing the narrative of gross housing deficit and inadequate decent shelter through diverse strategies which include utilisation of innovative building designs such as vertical construction of more homes as well as greater collaboration with private investors.
He urged the staff to be ready to make sacrifices by putting in their best to actualize the ideas and innovations which would promote and deliver more homes to Lagosians.
Akinderu – Fatai also called on the staff to align with the spirit of the new administration by embracing the virtues of hard work, honesty, and selflessness, among others.
He also advised the technical staff to bring to the attention of the State Government any contractors found using inferior or low-quality building materials for government housing projects, saying ” it is the respinsibility of every worker to ensure the safety and durability of every house delivered to the people “.
According to the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kamar Olowoshago said all hands shall be on deck to increase housing stocks in the State.
He also promised to discipline any staff who violatea the established rules and regulations while wishing the Honourable Commissioner giant strides as he leads the team towards achieving the goals of more decent homes for all Lagos residents.
