More Artistes to Perform at Opening Ceremony in Asaba

7TH NATIONAL YOUTH GAMES

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 7th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, has added more artistes to the of those earlier picked to perform at the opening ceremony on Saturday.

Boy Spyce and May D are the latest addition to the list that include Khaid and Cooler Lane.

 According to the statement issued by the LOC last night, the plan is to make the event all fun and memorable for the youngsters coming to Asaba from all over the country. 

“Like we promised, Asaba 2023 is planned to be a National Youth Games like never before. This is in consonance with the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori,” an aide of the governor, Fred Edoreh stressed in the statement.

Meanwhile, over 4500 youths and 800 officials are expected  to participate in the 7th National Youth Games in Asaba.

 Chairman of Delta Sports Commission who also doubles as boss of the Local Organising  Committee,  Tonobok Okowa,  assured all athletes and officials that this edition of the youth games will be like no other before it.

While promising tight security for all and sundry, Okowa said that the state had put in place all that is needed to have a memorable youth games.

He also informed that youths from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory will compete in the 10-day youth sports fiesta.

Okowa hinted that athletes will participate in 35 events during the festival which began yesterday and will run till September 30.
