SHUAIBU AND ABUBAKAR AUDU’S BIG SHOES

it is true that Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu is now seen as representing the highest ideals and values of his late father’s political dynasty. For those who thought the present governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, is one that does not hold the Audu political dynasty in esteem,  the appointment of Shaibu Audu as a minister in the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is surely an answer to their long-held posers.  This appointment is a confirmation that Governor Yahaya Bello has never been politically vindictive towards the Igala as an ethnic group or the Audu’s political family in particular. The governor with this appointments has shown beyond doubt that he holds the Audu family in awe and admiration. The Audu political family has been good to the state considering the pivotal role it has played and continues to play in the growth and development of the state. The governor has also shown that he is ready at all time to bring the best, irrespective of ethnic, religious, and political leanings to develop the state.

This appointment also confirms the governors’ statements on many occasions that he is not in government to annihilate any one or a particular ethnic group for that matter particularly the Igala who Providence provided to be the majority ethnic group in the state. This is also a testament to the fact that the primary election of the APC in the state was conducted in good faith to select the best candidate to develop the state. For accepting to serve as the Director- General of the APC Campaign Council for the governorship election of the state slated for November 11, Shaibu Abubakar Audu must be commended.

Shuaibu Audu has shown that he has matured politically by rising above all petty, parochial, ethnic, religious and gender considerations to lead the way to the birth of a new Kogi State where competence and ability are the criteria to serve. He has shown severally that he is well equipped to fill the big political shoes left behind by his father, Prince Abubakar Audu of blessed memory because one of the lessons he learnt from his father is that loyalty to the state should come above all other considerations in making decision.

For those who have been ingrained with the divisive politics of the past, it is time to move forward by supporting collectively the new director general because it is time to think more about the future of the state. Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu just like his father respects the people of the state and he is ready to bring something new into the campaign by uniting the people of the state. He is a disciple of a new type of politics which will translate into victory for the APC.
