Sequel to the meeting between President Bola Tinubu and his Angolan counterpart Joao Manuel on the sidelines of the just concluded 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York to explore opportunities and solidify relationships between the two nations, the Angolan Embassy in Nigeria has said that it will host Nigeria’s business community next month in Abuja
The new Angolan Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Jose Bamoquina Zau, in a letter to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, said the embassy is preparing to host an interactive diplomatic dinner between business leaders in Nigeria and their counterparts from Angola.
The ambassador said that Angola and Nigeria share very similar stories with the abundance of natural resources available to both nations, adding that the interactive section will be an opportunity for the industry players to share experiences and explore business partnerships.
The interactive session which will be held at the Transcorp Hilton on October 19 will be under the theme: ‘Introducing a New Era of Sustainable Business Partnership’.
According to Zau, top Angolan officials expected at the business dinner “are senior executives from the public sector, the National Bank/of Angola, private bankers, state and private companies and the Angolan Nigeria Chamber of Commerce and Industry while the Nigeria guests expected are governors, bankers, oil and gas executives and the extractive industry players.
The business dinner is also an opportunity for the new ambassador to be introduced to the Nigeria business community as well as avail both countries a new vista of business relationships.
The letter signed by the new Angolan ambassador further said, “With the presence of all these executives from Angola and the sincere dedication of the new Ambassador to this cause, we believe that we are about to witness the birth of a new era: a sustainable business partnership between Angola and Nigeria.
“We therefore humbly request that Your Excellency reserves this date to honour us with your presence and to make a brief remark of about five to seven minutes at the event,” Zau stated.
