Glamour at ‘Wowman Conference’ Grand Finale

This unforgettable evening was a delightful fusion of music, poetry, enlightening speeches, and the highly anticipated gala awards ceremony in Lagos. The attendees adorned themselves in stunning black-themed attire, radiating elegance and grace.

Just Us Girls Global Network, a vibrant movement dedicated to empowering women and addressing the challenges faced by females worldwide, celebrated its fifteenth-year anniversary in grand style with the ‘Wowman’ conference, which took place from September 11th to September 17th, 2023. This seven-day extravaganza united women from across the globe for a week of profound inspiration, empowerment, and personal transformation.

The evening opened with an awe-inspiring spoken word poetry performance, setting the tone for the gala awards ceremony. Prestigious award plaques were presented to deserving women from various Just Us Girls Global tribes, recognizing their outstanding contributions in various categories of endeavours. The atmosphere resonated with spiritual fervor as gospel artistes, Esther Benyeogo and Pita Linus, led the gathering in spirit-filled worship sessions.

Before introducing the guest speaker for the night, the conference convener and founder of Just Us Girls Global, Pastor Mildred Kingsley Okonkwo, had the privilege of presenting the prestigious Wowman Inspirational Leadership Award to Revd. Funke Felix Adejumo. In a heartfelt moment, she said, “Tonight, it is an honor and privilege to present you with the Inspirational Leadership Award for Wowman 2023.”

In her acceptance speech, Revd. Adejumo conveyed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you, Pastor Mildred. I dedicate this award to every woman. I believe in you, and I will see you at the top.” The conference closed with a captivating musical presentation, as the official announcement of the theme for the 2024 Just Us Girls Conference, which will be themed ‘Shine.’
