Rangers NPFL Title Quest on Course, Assured of Govt Backing, Appoint Nutritionist for Players
Enugu Rangers’ quest to win this season’s Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL is taking a new height as the Flying Antelopes have been assured of the state government unflinching backing and the club is towing the path of standard practices of having a nutritionist as part of the team.
Rangers have engaged the services of a nutritionist for their players.
The nutritionist, according to the club, will oversee the quality of food and drinks intake of the players to aid their performance on and off the pitch.
The management of the club confirmed the appointment of an international acclaimed nutritionist Mrs. Winifred Nwabunike.
“The importance of a nutritionist in a team cannot be over-emphasised hence our drive to get one who is of international repute,” the club chairman Mr. Amobi Ezeaku stated during her introduction to the players.
“It is our hope and desire that her services will in no small measure, help us achieve our target for the season.
“I am sure that with the right advice on food and liquid intakes for the players and officials, we are on the right path towards reclaiming our top place in the Nigerian and continental football scene.”
Just last week, Rangers announced the signing of Kazeem Ogunleye from Plateau United on a two-year contract.

“Let’s make history together Kazeem.” the statement read.
Rangers Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu is said to be a big fan of the midfielder.
The pair previously worked together at Plateau United last season.
Ogunleye registered one goal and three assists in his nine appearances for Plateau United last season.
Meanwhile, Rangers have been assured of government support ahead of the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The members of the Youth, Sports and Security Committee of the state gave the assurance when they visited the club’s management.
The delegation which was led by its chairman, Raymond Ugwu, urged the club’s management to work tirelessly in ensuring the team’s success in the new NPFL season
Ugwu pledged the government’s support in every area.
“We came here to familiarise the committee members with the management of the club as part of our oversight functions,” he stated during their visit.
“We came to seek out areas of strength and challenges so as to ensure that the club becomes the best brand in the country in all ramifications.
“Rangers must become champions again and we need to experience night matches again in Enugu.”
