Ekpo Celebrates Unity, Peace on  A’Ibom’s 36th Anniversary

Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, has lauded the government and people of Akwa Ibom State for the unity and peaceful co-existence of its various peoples and the socio-economic developments recorded over the past 36 years.

The minister stated this in a statement yesterday to mark the 36th anniversary of the creation of the state.

He said the creation of the state has allowed the spread of health, education, electricity, roads, and other infrastructural developments to more communities across the 31 local governments in the state.

He therefore commended successive governments that have administered the state since its creation in 1987 for working assiduously in growing infrastructure and human capital in line with the vision and aspirations of its founding fathers.

Ekpo described Akwa Ibom as richly blessed with human and natural resources, including untapped gas reserves.

He pledged to partner the state government, private sector investors and other stakeholders in unlocking its gas potential for the economic benefits of the state and nation.

The minister tasked the government and people of Akwa Ibom State to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu in ongoing efforts to foster national unity and in resuscitating the economy, saying, “Mr. President means well for all citizens.”
