Thursday, September 14, 2023, will remain a memorable day for pupils of Adekunle Anglican Primary School (AAPS), Makoko, in Yaba LCDA, Lagos. On this date, which was FranklinCovey Global Day of Service, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Compliance Professionals Plc and License Owner of FranklinCovey Nigeria, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, touched the hearts of the pupils with gifts that had a great impact on their mental and learning ability. The gift was packs of nutritious food that children love the most: packs of uncooked Indomie noodles.

Okauru said, “We gave them packs of noodles. We gave them joy. And we gave them laughter. We recognised that as individuals and businesses we have a role to give back and also teach giving as a habit to kids so that they too can give when they grow up.”

The headteacher of AAPS, Mrs. Folake Akinnagbe, told THISDAY that the FCN has contributed its quota to the school’s development.

“I appreciate the gift because it will quench the hunger in the pupils’ stomachs. The pupils were happy and rejoicing when the gift was brought out and distributed to them. I really appreciated them for presenting the hands of love, kindness to the pupils,” said Akinnagbe.

The implementation strategist of FCN, Ms. Oluchi Samuel, described the gift as “our own CRS day to give back to the society.”

Also, the Senior Delivery Consultant of FCN, Ms. Nkemdilim Mojume, told THISDAY that “we are here today as part of FranklinCovey Global Day of Service” and that from “our survey, we found out that hunger is the number one problem. So, we choose to meet their immediate need while working on their long-term needs.”

The head of the Human Resources and Finance Team of FranklinCovey Nigeria, Mrs. Olajumoke Akinyemi, urged corporate bodies and organisations “to work together and assist the government in keeping children in school and out of the street.”
