As Nigeria marks its 63rd year of independence this weekend Free Gift International Film and Theater Ministry will be staging an iconic stage play entitled “Nation Builder” at the Agip Recital Hall of the MUSON Centre, Onikan Lagos. In a fast paced, eclectic and humorous manner the play explores the multifaceted nature of the challenges in nation building today, identifying seven core pillars that make nations great. The play challenges traditional mindsets of nation building while giving a wake-up call to the citizenry to play their part in building the nation.

There will be two free performances of the play on Saturday September 30 and Sunday October for pre-registered audience. Registration can be done online in advance at or on arrival at the gate on the day. There will also be two gold performances on Monday the 2nd of October 2 and admission is strictly by invitation.

Nation Builder tells the story of how The Nation, a 50-floor skyscraper suddenly collapses, and angry citizens begin to cry for the blood and the head of the Nation Builder, claiming that substandard materials were used in building The Nation. The Nation builder, desperate to escape the angry mob who seek to avenge the blood of those slain, flees to a safe house. His stay in the safe house will only be allowed if he can prove he is free from guilt, and time is fast running out.

Written and directed by Ayotunde Yoloye, the play features veteran actors Eric Amole-Adams Osas Okoduwa, Femi Odunlami, Beloved Lawal, upcoming actress Stella George and a guest appearance by Bukola Oluwande.
