Wike Sacks Nine FCTA MDs, ES FCT Primary Healthcare Board, Others

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has relieved the Chief Executive Officer/Group Managing Director of the Abuja Investment Company Ltd and eight other Managing Directors of some parastatals, agencies and government companies of the FCT Administration of their appointments with immediate effect.

Some other high profile officers affected by the gale of sack also included the Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Board, GM FCT Waterboard and Director General, Hospital Management Board.

The Director of Press Office of the Minister, Anthony Ogunleye, in a statement yesterday, explained that the affected officers were to hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior officers in rank.

He said the appointments into the offices would be made in due course.

The statement listed the 21 officers sacked by the minister for reasons that were not specified as follows: Group MD/CEO, Abuja investment Company Ltd; CEO/MD, Abuja Markets Management Ltd; MD/CEO, Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company;  CEO/MD, Abuja Property Development Company; CEO/MD Abuja Technology Village Free Trade Zone Company;  CEO/MD Abuja Film Village International; CEO/MD Powernoth AICL Equipment Leasing Company Ltd;    MD Abuja Broadcasting Corporation and MD, Abuja Enterprise Agency.

Others include the GM, FCT Water Board; DG, FCT Emergency Management Agency; Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Board; Director General, Hospital Management Board;  Director, Abuja Environmental Protection Board; Director, FCT Scholarship Board; Director FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and Director, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Also affected were the Coordinator, Abuja Infrastructure Investment Center;  Director, FCT Health Insurance Scheme;  Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Department and Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council.
