Talented Nigerian comedian, Bovi is set to thrill fans come Saturday, September 30th, 2023, to a night of endless laughter at Eko Hotels, Lagos. According to Bovi at a press held conference held earlier in the week, “red carpet begins at 6pm as guest will get enjoy all sort of cocktail drinks while the main show will kick-off by 8pm and end by 11pm.” He urged fans to grab their tickets and also keep to time.
Bovi adds: “The theme this year is Identity Crisis because most of the jokes I’m going to be talking about will have its own identity. Across the world, there are different things we identify with, things that are our culture, religion, race and more.”
He assures fans that they should expect to laugh, “Those who have come for my shows in the past know to a large extent that it is Stand-up Comedy at its finest. The template doesn’t change but we intend to have opening acts by the funniest comedians who are emerging. It is not a jamboree kind of show but a comedy show majorly and we hope to start and finish on time. Personally, I observe the news and pen down my take. If I’ve written about 15 jokes and 11 of them bother around a common topic, then the title emerges from there.”
Speaking about uniqueness and crafting one’s work he said, “Comedy has evolved to a point where comedians now know that to grow in this business you have to have your own unique set. Over time, you will find out that those who use to pinch on other people’s jokes, it only took them to a certain level. If you really want to grow, you will have to write your own material but if you are stealing jokes you will just be hovering around a certain level. In recent years, the system has started to filter itself.”
