An exciting international movie titled, ‘180 Nigeria’ scheduled for release in early 2024 is billed to have popular broadcaster and media personality, Toke Makinwa as a lead actor and co-executive producer.

According to the movie promoters, ‘180 Nigeria’ will be the first International Independent Nigerian female-led flick that will capture the country’s rich culture across board, while providing its original narratives to global audience.

“The work is on a mission to project Nigeria’s beauty and best, and coming at a time when Nigeria is battling reputation challenge makes it so apt,” said the promoters.

On this project, an entertainment company, Pinnaclemena Media Nigeria is collaborating with Oxygen and the Temple Company which are presently in talks with several states and entities for support.

Introducing the movie at a press conference in Ogidi Studios Lekki, Lagos, recently, CEO of Pinnaclemena Media, Diji Shujahi hinted that the movie will be set in ten Nigeria’s states, paying keen attention to local details.

Aside selling the country to the world, Shujahi said the movie will highlight grassroot charities as well as actors that have selflessly served and sacrificed to nourish the world.

“180 Nigeria is a project we are really honoured to bring to Nigeria. This is a storyline that appeals to a lot of our values and missions as an organisation. We want to thank Stellar International for being early supporters and funders of the project. They believe in the story and the message and are giving us the support.

“We would also like to thank Prince Adesegun Oniru, who is supporting the movie in the capacity of Co-Executive producer. He is a vivid propagator of Nigerian culture and talents across the globe, and having his name associated with the movie has helped to create larger avenues for us and the movie in Nigeria.”

According to Makinwa, the movie is an opportunity for Nigerians to tell their story to the world by themselves.”

She adds: “I was particularly drawn to the script because of its message of humanity, charity and affinity for local environment. As much as I love acting, I have been thinking about the next step in my career, this movie seemed to be the right opportunity for me”.

In his remark, the movie Director, Bunmi Ajakaiye said, “I am especially passionate about telling stories from the female gaze. The African woman is one of the most intriguing, compelling, and complex characters ever to exist, and because of the unique society in which she finds herself, the issues she faces daily are endless. Therefore, capturing her triumphs, sacrifices, fearlessness, and freedom through the lens will never lose its appeal. The story of 180 Nigeria drew me in from my first conversation with the producers.”

Also at the briefing, Managing Partner of Oxygen Media, Mr. Princewill Utchay said, “With ‘180 Nigeria’ we saw an opportunity to portray Nigeria’s richness and diversity. Beyond that is the move to beam the light on charity organisations. We truly identify and believe in charity and empowerment as seen in our investment in sport. This project is an opportunity to spread and continue with the work.”

Yemisi Falaye, who represented The Temple Company, and Dr. Tunde Lawrenson, CEO of Xmedia Communications and 180 Script Supervisor   also expressed their excitement about their involvement with the project set to be shot at locations in Nigeria and Dubai.

Also part of the movie is Ogidi Studios which expressed delight at identifying with a project desirous to showcase the creative side of Nigeria to the world.
