NAPPS President Calls for Adequate Security in Schools to Boost Learning

The National President, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools ( NAPPS) Nigeria, Chief Yomi Otubela, yesterday,  appealed to  governments at all levels and school owners/ administrators to ensure that schools across the country, were adequately secured from threats that could hurt the learning process. 

Otubela, who made this known in a statement to commemorate the 2023 World Teachers’ Day emphasised the importance of teachers in society, saying they do not only contribute significantly to the academic world, but also the development of society at large.

Given the fact that the future of any society lies in the hands of its children, he stated that teachers who are the transformation agents in education, should get the necessary support from all stakeholders and feel motivated to achieve the goals of effective and qualitative education. 

According to him, “teachers as role models to our children need every support in various areas (psychological support, mental wellness, job security, remuneration, technological support, etc). to successfully carry out their numerous roles in the lives of our children.”

He congratulated all teachers while expressing delight to be associated, “with these sets of professionals who are committed to preparing and grooming our children to become great leaders in various spheres of life. 

“World Teachers’ Day provides a unique opportunity to appreciate our esteemed teachers for their immense contribution to the growth and development of the education sector.”
