Operators Seek FG’s Support for Hospitality Sector

The federal government has been urged to strengthen investment in the nation’s hospitality sector to allow it to fully bounce back from COVID-19 pressure. 

Founder/CEO, Glitz Group of Companies, Adetola Akinola, declared this during a ‘Praise Party’ held in Lagos to commemorate the company’s seventh anniversary and the sixth anniversary of Glitz Garages. 

According to her, the hospitality sector remained one of the most hit by COVID-19 spread, requiring extra support and focus to achieve impressive recovery far beyond the present 60 per cent. 

Akinola commended government on some recovery steps taken so far, including the Sustainability Plan that aimed to support small and medium-sized business in the sector, she asserted more need to be done. 

“Government needs to make the operating environment much more conducive, it needs to invest in infrastructure and more. By doing so, both budding and old players will thrive, while the economy will be impacted positively,” she said. 

She added that the Praise Party was an annual initiative of the organisation to appreciate God for business success and sustainability since existence.  

She also encouraged players to give their best and anticipate desired change in the economy with optimism. 

For the founder of 700 Movement, Dr. Esther Longe, the party was apt considering the present challenges in the country. 

“It is a way of appreciating God for bringing us thus far even amid challenges and storms of life. Much more for Glitz group, seven years is no mean feat,” she enthused.

 The party was graced by notable gospel artistes who thrilled guests to an electrifying performance . Some of them included Nathaniel Bassey,  Sunmisola Agbebi,  Mairo Ese and Dare Justified, amongst others.
