Terrorists Abduct 9 Persons from Zamfara Community

Armed men suspected to be terrorists, in the wee hours of yesterday, stormed Tsohuwar Kasuwa area of Kaura Namoda, in Zamfara State, abducting nine persons and rustling five cattle.

A source, who spoke to THISDAY on telephone, said the terrorists stormed the area at about 02:00a.m.

Another source said the bandits abducted the nine persons from three residences.

According to him, they abducted two wives of one Alhaji Sabitu-Umma Sabitu, Zulaihatu Sabitu; his three daughters – Jamila Sabitu, Ihsan Sabitu and Hafsat Sabitu and his son, Hussaini Sabitu.

At the residence of one Rabe Sarkawa, the terrorists kidnapped Abdulshakur Rabe, and Mamu Rabe, while at the residence of one Sahabi Na Alaye, they abducted his daughter, Aisha Sahabi Na Alaye.

It would be recalled that the security chiefs in state briefed Governor Dauda Lawal yesterday on the progress in rescuing the abducted female students of the Federal University Gusau, before another bandits struck again.

Zamfara State has since become the epic centre of banditry in the region with no week passing without abduction or attacking of a community.

Nevertheless, Governor Lawal has assured the people of the state that his administration would do everything possible to contain the menace, stressing he will never negotiate with terrorists.
