Upbeat Fetes Underprivileged Children, Pledges Support

West Africa’s first trampoline park and destination for fun and fitness, Upbeat Recreational Centre has hosted less privileged children to its Lekki facility at the launch of its ‘Games Day’ Programme in Lagos, recently.
Receiving children of The Destiny Trust Centre recently, a non-governmental organisation that cares for homeless children, the firm explained that the gesture was in fulfillment of its commitment to growth and development of children.
Executive Director at Upbeat, Moyo Ogunseinde explained that the ‘Game Day’ initiative was part of the company’s sustainability agenda to promote active fun for children.
He said, “The programme is aimed at exposing disadvantaged and underrepresented children to various fun-filled activities, including sport that will promote healthy lifestyle. It is design to make the children enjoy and access environment and resources they may not otherwise have accessed.”
Ogunseinde added that the programme was also designed to prevent and break screen addiction in youngsters and in fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goal 3 to promote healthy lives and well-being for all ages.
At Upbeat facility, the visiting children between ages two to sixteen years were treated to both breezy and educational activities. They also gained access to wide array of sporting games available in the centre which included trampoline jumps, wall climbing, relay and sack races, amongst others.
Remarking, Learning Facilitator at The Destiny Trust, Kemi Magnus-Oyewole affirmed that the experience at the centre was such that children need for all-round activeness.
“We believe that providing all-round care for the kids helps them better focus on learning and gaining skills. We not only provide education but also food, shelter, clothes and counselling when necessary. We are excited to get the invitation from Upbeat and the day was beyond our expectations,” said Magnus-Oyewole.
