Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has explained that the four-day retreat of State Executive Council was geared towards effective implementation of the ARISE Agenda blueprint as enshrined in the policy thrust of the state administration.

He told journalists at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, on his return from the retreat that the exercise was part of his team building strategy for implementation of the ARISE Agenda.

On the retreat tagged: ‘ARISE AGENDA: Mapping The Future’, held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, the governor said it afforded the team the opportunity to distill the ARISE Agenda concept into an executable governance roadmap that would yield dividends for the people of the state.

With a successful retreat, he expressed optimism about his team’s readiness to deliver in accordance with set timelines to realise expected results.

According to him, “This is the first which I call team building. If you have a team, you put them together. Even Jesus did it. Take them out and talk with them.

“This is all of the ARISE Agenda. We had to download and then distill it properly to the various ministries to work as all of us will do. We expect the results.

“So we have a full roadmap and the implementation plan for the ARISE Agenda. We believe that we are now good to go, and all the ministries know what we are to do when we are to do it, and how to do it.”

Also, foremost investment and economic experts, including, former Governor, Udom Emmanuel; Mfon Usoro, and Bismarck Rewane, among others, addressed the retreat.
