Abosede Onifade continues to demonstrate her unwavering commitment to environmental justice and social impact in her homeland, Nigeria. Born and raised in Nigeria, Onifade’s academic journey began at Lagos State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology with an outstanding performance. Her dedication and hard work earned her the title of Best Graduating Student in the Department of Sociology and the Faculty of Social Sciences in 2019, marking her as a trailblazer in her field.

In her previous role as Project Manager at Kleos Africa, she played a pivotal role in developing monitoring and evaluation plans for social development projects. Her meticulous supervision of technical specifications and the creation of reliable metrics ensured the verifiability of research findings. She adeptly managed research activities, integrating outcomes and lessons learned into ongoing projects and sharing valuable insights with stakeholders. Furthering her impact in the social sector, Abosede joined H.C. Bonum Ltd as a Consultant.

She designed performance metrics and supported the implementation of strategies for social impact organizations, bridging performance gaps and helping clients achieve their strategic objectives.

Araromi Ikeshi Ota is home to a resilient community that struggles with the adverse effects of being near more than 18 industrial and manufacturing plants. These plants have turned the area into a de facto dump site, severely impacting public health and the environment. The local population, already struggling with limited resources, faces the compound burden of pollution and unsanitary living conditions.
Abosede has made significant strides in addressing environmental challenges in the low-income community of Araromi Ikeshi Ota, Nigeria, showcasing a profound dedication to social impact.

Recognizing the power of collective effort, she organized a community initiative to clean and revitalize the environment. This project, focused on sustainability, involved educating the youth on the importance of environmental stewardship, equipping them with the necessary tools, and leading clean-up drives to remove waste and pollutants from the area. Her initiative has improved the immediate living conditions and instilled a sense of responsibility and empowerment among the youth, fostering a culture of sustainability that will benefit future generations.
