Emenike’s Remarkable Service to Nigeria
Charles Ajunwa
He doesn’t like praise-singing of any sort. He is focused and eyes always on ball. Apart from his milk of human kindness, he is passionate about the Nigeria Project.
He wants to see a Nigeria that works for the poor and the rich, and a Nigeria that works for the young and the old, and even future generations. This is the life of High Chief Ikechi Emenike, a globally revered economist cum politician.
The Abia-born international publisher has traversed over 50 countries and all continents of the world where his skills and expertise are needed. He has worked with past and present world leaders for a sustainable future for all.
Nigeria’s towering image in the international community resonated at the just concluded 2023 World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings in Marrakech, Morocco, thanks to Emenike’s remarkable dedication and hard work together with his team.
He was able to achieve this feat through his brainchild – The African Economy Magazine and Annual Meetings Daily, which is published onsite throughout the duration of the meetings, a tradition he has consistently maintained for over three decades non stop, and the only black official publishers of the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings, African Development Bank (AfDB) and other global financial institutions.
The African Economy, which has the portrait of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu embossed on the it with the title- ‘Nigeria: Tinubu’s Audacity of Renewed Hope’ attracted the attention of participants who scrambled to get a copy of the magazine. It was a one-stop marketing for Nigeria at the highest level.
Apart from showcasing Tinubu’s sustainable Renewed Hope Agenda, Emenike used the African Economy to woo foreign investors to Nigeria.
The Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on the eight priority areas for moving the Nigerian economy forward. Food security, ending poverty, economic growth and job creation, access to capital, particularly consumer credit, inclusivity in all it’s dimension, particularly with regards to youths and women, improving security, rule of law, and fighting corruption are the core.
Known for his grassroots mobilisation and political sagacity, Emenike who was the Abia State Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, has continued to work tirelessly to ensure that the APC ship sails smoothly, with the firm belief that Nigeria will attain its manifest destiny.
Emenike, who is Pan Nigerian leader, while unveiling his 28-page manifesto to journalists at his Umukabia Okpuala country home, explained that his mission plan is “to rescue and develop Abia (RADA)”, noting that it has always been his dream for Nigeria to join the league of developed countries. A task he has refused to shy away from or give excuses, taking the bull by the horns.
Though at a great personal cost, Emenike has continued to sacrifice his time, energy and resources just to make sure that Project Nigeria works. Participants at the just concluded 2023 World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Morocco, all left for their various countries with a good impression about Nigeria, as a country with great potentials and ready to do business that will bring about prosperity to the whole world.
