Adetiba Concludes Shooting of New Movie
When renowned filmmaker Kemi Adetiba landed her current Netflix deal including her forthcoming title, ‘To Kill A Monkey’ (TKAM), an excited Adetiba, known for films such as ‘The Wedding Party’ and ‘King of Boys’, took to her social media handles to share the news accompanied by a video of a package from the streaming giant.
Interestingly, the award-winning movie director/producer who seem to have been quiet since her last blockbuster – KOB 2 series, on Sunday October 15 wrapped principal photography for the TKAM, according to numerous clips she reposted on her Instagram Stories. The production ran its course for almost three months after it began shooting on August 7.
‘To Kill A Monkey’ is one of the three titles the filmmaker has in store. In her words, “Starting with ‘To Kill A Monkey’ – A crazy story God put in my head out of nowhere, the morning of my engagement. And I can’t wait for you guys to see it. If you’ve ever trusted me before, triple that trust, because ‘TKAM’ is something”
A crime thriller, written and directed by Adetiba, in collaboration with Remi Adetiba, the TKAM which comes in series cast some of Nollywood’s finest, including Stella Damasus, Ireti Doyle, Bimbo Akintola, Michael Ejoor, Chidi Mokeme, Bucci Franklin, Sunshine Rosman, Lilian Afegbai, Teniola Aladese, William Benson Chinoyenem and Damilola Adegite.
TKAM which is one of seven Nigerian film titles announced by Netflix in August 2023, is expected to premiere early 2024.
It is also one of the three movies Adetiba announced previously in her exclusive deal with Netflix. The other two are Welcome to The Fourth and King of Boys 3.
