Dufil Boosts Nigerian Teachers’ Value with Educational Tools
In furtherance of its commitment to the growth of education and child academic empowerment, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles recently organised a value-added seminar for teachers in public and private schools across the country in Lagos.
Speaking during the event tagged, “Rethinking Teaching Profession and Teachers Education,” the Group Corporate Communications & Event Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, Mr Tope Ashiwaju, explained that the yearly value-added seminar for teachers across the country is geared towards creating a better future for children by equipping teachers with the needed skills; not just academically, but physically, emotionally and mentally as the everchanging dynamism of the education sector keep evolving.
Ashiwaju pledged Dufil’s unwaving support to the Nigerian Teachers. “Indomie will continue to work with the teachers to exploit the enormous potentials inherent in our children so that they are adequately prepared for their future engagements”, he assured
Addressing the teachers, the lead speaker and Head, Department of Science Education, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos, Prof. Sunday Adeyemo, advised the teachers to embark on the quest to access quality and relevant knowledge.
He stressed that the only way for teachers to be relevant is by Pursuance of self-actualization through ccritical thinking, communication skills, creativity, problem solving and perseverance as this is the most important self-motivation for pursuing more knowledge and achieve the sense of fulfillment that comes from knowing more.
He said: “Empathy requires active listening. That means giving your full attention and listening to both the student’s words and tone of voice. When you listening to your students, you will be surprised of the knowledge you can also tap from them.”
Also speaking at the occasion, Director, Co-Curricular, Science & Technology Department, Educational District 4, Mrs Onatoye-Buraemoh Oluwakemi, lauded the efforts of Dufil Prima Foods for what she termed its immense support for education in the state.
“Education is the most powerful weapon to effecting positive change in the world and would always remain the bedrock of human capital development across civilisations. With this in mind, the Lagos State Government has continued to invest in bringing out the enormous potentials in our children,” she assured.
