Skits Maker, MC Reality Reveals His Top 3 Videos

Olorunyomi Doyin Abiola popularly known as MC Reality is an exceptional comedian, director, producer and actor who has etched his footprints on the Skits making landscape in Nigeria with his amazing video content. However, the Lagos State University graduate has revealed the top 3 videos that made him a household name.

Chatting with our reporter via Whatsapp, the comedian picked London Tailor, Mallen College and Tenant Wahala as his top 3 videos that contributed to his success

“London Tailor is a series of mine with a lot of creativity, hard work and the result is mind blowing. Mallen College is a school series, that is very educative and the fans loved it because they were always asking when the next episode would be out. Tenant wahala is a compound series and is very dramatic and funny,” he said.

MC Reality describes himself as a unique comedian and actor who understands the audience, and what they love , noting that this expression and the way he talks makes him different.

MC Reality, who was formerly known and called MC Jazzeno also share the inspiration behind his stage name, noting he has a secondary school classmate to thank for that.

“When I was in secondary school I was using the name “MC Jazzeno ” as my stage name, until a classmate of mine shouted “MC Reality” because of my realistic jokes. MC Reality is a very shy and quiet person when he’s not on stage or location shooting, ” he recalled.

MC Reality, who has come a long way after a long stint as a standup comedian and actor, has distinguished himself in the area of skitsmaking with his long list of relatable, humorous and educational content and videos.

His comedy career started officially in the year 2015, although he first began as a standup comedian in the year 2011 and then as a content creator. He is from Owan West local government area of Edo State. He is the last child in a family of four

He grew up watching Nigerian movies, and the person who had the most impact on him is John Okafor a.k.a Mr Ibu, saying, ” I was greatly motivated and inspired by him.”

Along the line, he and his friends, led by Sirbalo, a notable content creator formed a group called Sirbalo Comedy Clinic. Due to financial challenges, they could not do long running videos and decided to stick to Skits making which has projected them into limelight, and perhaps, smiling to the bank.

“Sirbalo Comedy group is the best in Africa in content creation, although it takes hard work and dedication to get to that level. I make a lot of money from content on YouTube, facebook instagram and TikTok. YouTube and Facebook paid me. I advertise for brands on TikTok and Instagram. Skit making has been a blessing to me, with the fame, money and recognition,” he said

1. Can we have the background of MC Reality, tell us all about yourself, your background, school attended, local government area, and family brief history?

Answer: Olorunyomi Doyin Abiola popularly known as MC Reality is an exceptional comedian, director, producer and actor. His comedy career started officially in the year 2015, although he first began as a standup comedian year 2011 and then as a content creator. I’m from Edo state owan west local government, I attended my primary and secondary school there,primary school, confident nursing and primary school Sobe,secondary school Sobe high school sobe. And lagos state university Lasu.
I’m the last child from the family of 4.

2. What attracted you to Skits making and how has the experience been?

Answer: I grew up watching Nigeria movies, is a big motivation to me, and I was really inspired by Mr John Okafor,known as Mr Ibu. So me and my friends created a group called Sirbalo comedy since we don’t have the financial support to create long movies we decided to do skit making, starting was very challenging, but so far God has been faithful.

3. There are many skits makers out there, what stands MC Reality out of the crowd?

Answer: Mc Reality is a unique comedian, and actor and he understand the audience,he know what they love,and his expression and the way talks makes him different.

4. What inspired the character of MC Reality and how different is he from your normal self?

Answer: When I was in secondary school, I was using the name “Mc jazzeno ” as my stage name, until a classmate of mine shouted “Mc Reality” because of my realistic jokes. Mc Reality is a very shy and quiet person when he’s not on stage or location shooting.

6. What were your career plans before skits making and would you go back to your childhood dream?

Answer: During my secondary days my plan and aim was to become a pilot, but right now, no I don’t want to go back, because skit making has been a blessing to me,with the money,fame recognition.

7. Who have inspired you the most in your life, mostly regarding your career choice?

Answer: Sirbalo comedy. The group is the best in Africa in content creation.

8. They say skit makers are billionaires, who smile to the bank on account of their skits. How true is this and what’s your take on it?

Answer: Very correct,but it takes hard work and dedication to get to that level.

9. How do you monetize your skits or should we say how do you make money as a skit maker?

Answer: I make a lot of money from content on YouTube, facebook instagram and TikTok. YouTube and Facebook paid me. I advertise for brands on TikTok and Instagram.

10. You have featured many known skit makers in your skits. How do you do that and do you pay them for their part?

Answer: Honestly speaking I’ll say I pay them because I already built a relationship with them so i can feature them and they can feature me as well. But i pay all the up coming content creators to boost and motivate them.

11. What’s the difference between making skits and producing a movie. And how do you select the crew and cast, including the financial implications?

Answer: Skits making is less expensive than producing a movie. Because movies always require a lot of casts and crew than skits.

12. As a successful skit maker, what does it take to be successful in your trade and what would you advise the aspiring and upcoming skit makers?

Answer: Firstly it takes determination,hard work God and to be consistent in creating content.
My advice to the upcoming skits maker is to be focus,work hard and pray hard.

13. Some skits makers are taking their trade to the international stage, what are your plans in this regard?

Answer: I’m looking forward and also open to work with international content creators, because I believe and I know they will also love to work with me.

14. Any plan of going into the movie industry known as Nollywood, has anyone approached to come for audition?

Answer: Yes I was in nollywood before I move to skit making. But at the moment I only focus on my own content but I’m fully open for any movie role.

15. What was your worst experience as a skits maker and how it affected your life?

Answer: My worst experience was when I started newly, no views no fans just me watching my videos myself. Really makes me feel bad and depressed then. But now I got a lot of fans and I’m happy.
