DSS Releases Bawa after 4 Months in Custody

 Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has been released from detention, the Department of State Services has disclosed.

Bawa, who was  suspended from office over alleged “weighty allegations of abuse of office”, spent over four months in EFCC custody.

DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, in a statement, said Bawa was released on Wednesday.

“DSS confirms release of former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, a few hours ago (today 25th October, 2023),” the statement said.
