Sanwo-Olu, Obaseki, Others Witness Decoration of 12 AIGs, 19 CPS

The governors of Lagos, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Kogi  and Abia States, yesterday, witnessed and also participated in the decoration of 12 newly-promoted Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and 19 Commissioners of Police conducted by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters in Abuja.


The event followed the approval of the recommendation by the Nigeria Police by the Police Service Commission (PSC) for the promotion of  31 AIGs and CPs as well as 5,687 other dedicated senior officers within the Nigeria Police Force.


In his remarks, the IG charged the beneficiaries to continue to exhibit the core values of service, sacrifice, and selflessness in the discharge of their duties.
He also commended their dedication and hard work  which earned them the well-deserved promotion.


“The newly decorated officers demonstrated exceptional commitment to maintaining law and order in their respective duty posts and as such new ranks symbolise added responsibilities and the trust placed in them to continue leading by example,” he said.


Also in attendance were former First Lady,   Patience  Jonathan, retired IG, Usman Baba and his wife, senator representing Kogi Central, royal fathers from Kogi and Lagos States, members of the force management team and other senior police officers.


The IG congratulated all the promoted officers and encouraged them to redouble their efforts in service to the nation.

He also appreciated the PSC for their thorough and objective evaluation of the officers’ performances assuring of improved collaborative efforts in the effort to deepen excellence and uphold the NPF’s duty to serve and protect the people of Nigeria.
