Tour Operators Task NAHCON Boss on Accountability, Professionalism

The Association for Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON), has urged the new Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Mr. Jalal Ahmad Arabi, to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.

The National President of the AHUON, Mr. Yahaya Sulaiman Nasidi, in a press statement that was issued in Kano yesterday, applauded the appointment of Arabi as the best thing to happen to the industry.

Nasidi in the signed statement described Arabi’s appointment as a significant milestone in the regulation and administration of Hajj and Umrah operations in Nigeria.

He said: “We believe that his leadership will further strengthen the commission’s commitment to ensuring the smooth and successful pilgrimage of Nigerian Muslims to the holy land.

“AHUON is confident that under Mr. Arabi’s guidance, NAHCON will continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, Accountability, and openness, build on the successes achieved by the previous Management team.

“We look forward to working closely with the new chairman in promoting the welfare and interests of our members, as well as the Nigerian pilgrims who embark on the sacred journey of Hajj and Umrah.”

The association stated that “NAHCON achieved lot of milestones and advancements like proactive engagement with critical stakeholders like AHUON in decision making processes for successful facilitation of smooth Hajj and Umrah operations, an action which we look forward to the new management to build upon.

It stressed that “As an association representing the interests of Hajj and Umrah Tours operators in Nigeria, AHUON remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the regulatory efforts of NAHCON.”

He further assured the readiness of tour operators to collaborate with the commission to enhance the overall experience of Nigerian pilgrims, including the provision of high-quality services, improved facilities, and streamlined processes.

Nasidi said that “AHUON extends its full support to the new Chairman, Mr. Arabi,and stands ready to work together towards the shared goal of facilitating a successful and spiritually rewarding pilgrimage for all Nigerian Muslims.”
